I made cookies with the six year old. (The eight year old was off doing whatever it is she does, I’m not allowed in, but it’s loud and thumpy). We added up all the ounces and then divided the mixture into 16 and laid it out in rows to fit on the baking tray and worked out how many would overflow onto the next baking tray and how many we’d each get if we split them fairly (ha!) and then the Biggest Most Important Bit happened – she put them in the hot oven herself with her oven gloves.
She HATES sums. But loves baking.
