Playing games

We have some unanticipated down time at the moment, as we recover, as a family, from having had the youngest member yoyoing in and out of hospital for a week. She’s fine, but we’re all a bit shattered.

I wonder whether it’s time to introduce them to Settlers of Catan while we have their dad around to join in? I think our eldest is ready to play on her own and the others can be on teams with a parent each. We must dig it out of the attic and have a look. Games are lovely and we used to play one after dinner quite a lot. It was a really helpful family thing to do, at a time of day when we’re all tired and a bit inclined to obstreperousness, and I’d like to start doing it again.
